SPIRITUAL MINDSET

Updated: Aug 9, 2023

The things that we focus on in our hearts and our minds definitely effect our speech and our attitude.

Developing and keeping a Spiritual Mindset has many benefits:

  • Peace in your mind and heart.

  • Joy

  • Love for God and others.

  • Being confident and positive

  • Relationship with God on an intimate level.

  • Not just head knowledge – heart to heart.

  • Repels negativity.

  • Keeps you from being bitter.

  • More self-control.

  • Less arguing and fighting because you don’t want to lose your peace.

  • Better relationships over all in your life.

  • Live life with meaning and purpose.

  • Find answers to challenges or life questions.

How do you develop a Spiritual Mindset? Spend time DAILY in the Word of God. This is called the “renewing of your mind.”

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Philippians 2:13 (NKJV) for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Ephesians 3:17 (NKJV) that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Keeping a Spiritual Mindset keeps you from defeating attitudes like anger, guilt, jealousy, strife, etc. It also helps you to be stable and at peace when others around you may be having the opposite mindset.

Response vs. Reaction – Example: Dr. with anvil on knee.

A spiritual mindset will help you to Respond which will help the other person’s reaction to not be so emotional.

We can only control us, however, we can make a challenging situation lighter when our foundation is on God’s Word. We will view things from His perspective, and this will allow us to respond in love rather than making things worse.

Please be patient with yourself and your family or friends that have been through extreme circumstances. Both sides need time to adjust.

One day at a time. With God’s help and staying in a Spiritual Mindset you could make the difference in your relationships and you will feel better and better about the difference in how you begin to handle things in your life.
